Greetings to the masses...we're back! We have lots of business on the agenda! Read on down the page to find out "what's the haps" with us here at These Are Not Records. We are currently at work on finalizing our next several releases, and while we can't say much yet...we WILL tell you we think they are going to be quite "radical" as the kids say.

THE DEMANDER 7" HAS ARRIVED!
Rejoice all lovers of rock! Our Demander 7" is finally here! Demander is a tough band to describe; often unfairly compared to the YYY's. We're not writers or purveyors of cool here at TANR but we do know one thing: Demander loves to rock and rock BIG. And they somehow manage to do so while avoiding just about every rock cliche out there. This single features early versions of Books and Coulee; two new tracks from their as-yet-to-be-recorded sophomore release. Pressed on lovely clear vinyl in a hand-numbered limited edition of 475. Sweet. This little single even got a mention a while back in a Demander news story on CMJ.com. Read about it here. Impress your co-workers with your savvy taste in vinyl and pick this one up!

Demander will have copies at their upcoming shows. They'll be playing all new material at these gigs...so don't miss 'em:

11-29-08 :: Trenton, NJ - Mill HIll Basement
12-08-08 :: New York, NY - Nublu

ELF POWER - VENUS AND MERCURY 10"
The Elf Power "Venus and Mercury" 10" is available for purchase. It features two unreleased tracks from the recording sessions for their latest Rykodisc release "In A Cave"; Venus and Mercury and Mutiny. This one is pressed on translucent brown vinyl in a hand-numbered edition of 575. The packaging features photographs from the talented Ofer Wolberger. Head on over to the Releases section and make this brown beauty your own.

This is our second release carried by Insound.

"Venus and Mercury" is now available at Soundfix Records in Brooklyn, NY

ONEIDA - HEADS AIN'T READY 7"
The Oneida 7" is out and copies are moving fast! The records themselves look pretty bad-ass if we do say so ourselves. We're big fans of Oneida so it's exciting for us to have this one out.

This is the first release that online indie store Insound is carrying!

"Heads Ain't Ready" is now available at these fine "brick and mortar" shops:
Soundfix Records in Brooklyn, NY
Listen Records in Edmonton, Alberta
(There are more on the way...check back for updates)

Oneida will have copies with them at upcoming shows, so please feel free to pick it up straight from them if you'll be catching them live. I know I will!

12-13-08 :: New York, NY - Knitting Factory
O Fest - featuring Brava Spectre, Cave, Dirty Faces, Knyfe Hyts, Neptune, Oakley Hall, Oneida, Parts and Labor, Pterodactyl, Sightings, more - a full club event!

BRIAN BONZ - FROM SUMI TO JAPAN
We are really excited to finally divulge our next release. We are doing a special pressing of the new Brian Bonz record: "From Sumi To Japan". This will be limited to 300 copies and will only be available here and at Brian's shows. Besides being our first full length record, the packaging is going to be very cool and very different for us. We can't talk details just yet but think "Chock-Full-O-Nuts". Oh yeah, and this is going to feature an extra track exclusive to this pressing. If you're saying to yourself, "Brian Bonz? Who the fuck is that?", then you've obviously been asleep or preoccupied with the state of the economy.

"Brooklyn songwriter Brian Bonz and his band [the Dot Hongs] perform wistful, intensely precious indie pop." - Time Out New York

"Brian Bonz accompanied by The Dot Hongs represent the best of Brooklyn's experimental rock scene." - Sheryl Witlen of KEXP.org

"Bonz fused the bravado of synth-bands like the Anniversary with some funk grooves, and the aesthetics of Broken Social Scene." - Loose Record
